MMD Bad vs Good Posing by FushigiDestiny MMD Bad vs Good Posing by FushigiDestiny
:iconreadplz:
well, anyway...this is for people who want to make fancy pictures with decent posing...not for people who want to make other stuff.

posing tips:
-ALWAYS MOVE THE FINGER BONES!!!!!
-move the hair around to make it a bit more natural (if it's long)
-don't make the character stand still
-use posing references whether it's your hand or a picture on the internet (i usually just use my hand, but whatever)
-play around with expressions! don't just make them HAPPY EXCITED KAWAII DESU!!!!11!!1!1 all the time
-PRACTICE.PRACTICE.PRACTICE. if you draw, this can help you with your posing when you draw

models...
IA - mqdl
Miku - Gency
Len - 508
Rin Append - mqdl
GUMI dress - Mamama and aran・sumishi
Yuki - Nakao

guys, you do realize you don't have to follow this, right?

That's pretty good point. There are already poses not for the whole model but for its separate components, like, fingers eyes etc. You don't have to do anything from scratch on your own >.<

When I try to pose good, it never looks good, I have no idea why.

what you could do is find some pictures online with poses and use that for a reference when you pose...just a suggestion.

I'd appreciate the advice you gave if it didn't seem like you were so SNOBBISH about it. Good Poses Vs. Bad Posing?? Really? Who gave you the power to say what's bad or not? I hate people like you, spelling out what's bad and what's good. I did some really bad MMD when I first started out and I didn't hesitate to tell people like you to shove it when they said my MMD was bad.a

i'm not trying to be snobbish, nor am i trying to be the "overlord of good/bad posing." i'm not picking on people nor forcing them to follow this. this isn't the "official guide to posing." i am usually pretty blunt. sorry if my opinion offends you. have a nice day.

eh.. i just think, pose every bone in the model, even if its only a tiny bit ( ..exept if the model has a million skirt/hair bones, then either use physics or cheat )

Some people aren't really serious about the MMD animations, they just want to try it out or have fun. It isn't so important to get everything perfect looking.
